Get Airline refunds AFTER you buy

By The Advocates

This week’s The Distillery highlights another money saving online resource for those who travel. Summer is definitely upon us, and with that, the thought of Escaping Houston to exchange money for weather and scenery is becoming increasingly hard to ignore. Ok, let’s be honest, it’s impossible to ignore for some of us. So let’s assume you’ve already booked your flight to your favorite Summer destination, planning extra carefully to book on a Tuesday, the most agreed upon “best day” to buy airline tickets. Did you still wonder if you bought at the right time, or at the best price? I always do! That’s where Yapta comes in.

Yapta is an online flight analytics website that when your flight is entered (free sign-up), will track your exact flights booked, and notify you if/when it’s offered for less by the airline. Yapta will then provide you with instructions to request a reimbursement or credit for the difference between your purchased ticket and the cheaper offer! The only catch is not every airline has refund polices in place for consumers who do their due diligence post-ticket purchase. The airlines that Yapta currently can help out with are: Alaska, American, Delta, Hawaiian, JetBlue, United, and Virgin America. Start tracking your flights with Yapta here.

Let us know if you end up saving money this Summer! We’d love to live vicariously through you.
