I had an epiphany last Sunday afternoon while driving with my husband. We were on our way to my parents’ home for the weekend. It is about an hour-and-a-half drive straight down I-70, and it’s one of the few times in our frantically busy lives that we’re trapped in a place where we can have a focused conversation for more than a few minutes. I suggested to him that we should take a quick vacation this summer. He readily agreed and asked where I thought we should go. I replied that we should stay somewhat close, since we’re short on time and would need to leave our young daughter with family for the duration of the trip. He thought for a few moments and then suggested Costa Rica, the Virgin Islands, and Honduras.
