I had an epiphany last Sunday afternoon while driving with my husband. We were on our way to my parents’ home for the weekend. It is about an hour-and-a-half drive straight down I-70, and it’s one of the few times in our frantically busy lives that we’re trapped in a place where we can have a focused conversation for more than a few minutes. I suggested to him that we should take a quick vacation this summer. He readily agreed and asked where I thought we should go. I replied that we should stay somewhat close, since we’re short on time and would need to leave our young daughter with family for the duration of the trip.
